Well, here we are.
I Googled the other day: “Am I having a midlife crisis?” The AI overview told me it was quite possible, and it recommended a variety of solutions for me to try. One was to pursue a hobby, a little bit each day.
So alas, here I am. I’ve always loved dabbling in blogging and digital design. I’m no pro, but if doing this is going to get me through my midlife woes, then so be it.
But this isn’t just about aimlessly writing. I’m also here to build something else I’ve been yearning for: a community of non-judgmental working moms who live in the middle of everything, all the time.
Between a corporate 9-5 and my one-year-old daughter, life has me spinning some days. That doesn’t include the rest of the list, which I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you - being a good wife, being a good friend, being a good daughter, finding time to work out, finding time to socialize, keeping the house clean, on and on and on. Some days I feel like I’m on top of it all. Other days I feel like a circus animal about to fall off the balance beam and take the whole tent down with me.
And recently, I’ve had a lot of days where I find myself wondering - is this it? Is this what life is supposed to be? Running around, trying to catch up, never quite processing the moment as it happens because there are 100 things on my mind at any given time? I have to believe this isn’t everything life is all about. I’m determined to find a new balance that keeps my cup full.
I don’t know what that looks like, but I’m here, in the middle of it all, trying to figure it out.
